Czech cities identify top local issues through public polls
Residents in several Czech cities have used a Deník public poll to identify their most pressing local issues.
In Kladno, 49 percent of voters identified the area under the pergolas on ČSA street as the city's biggest problem, citing issues with disorder, alcohol consumption, and inappropriate behavior.
In Opava, the Slezanka site emerged as the primary concern, receiving 78 percent of the votes. The site is currently undergoing demolition following years of debate regarding its future use.
In Zlín, neglected public spaces were voted the top issue, followed by inadequate sports infrastructure at 33 percent and homelessness at 14 percent. Key projects in Zlín include the modernization of the transport terminal and the reconstruction of the Velké kino, which is expected to cost 639 million CZK.
