Czech cities launch free summer outdoor cinema season

Prague and Ostrava are organising a series of free open‑air film screenings for the summer of 2026. In Prague, venues such as the mobile Kinobus, Pragovka, MeetFactory, the Libeň Castle area and the Spirál film summer project will host nightly movies from late July through August, with programs changing according to weather conditions.

In Ostrava, the Centre Pant and a container bar on Černá louka, as well as community venues like the Poruba Cultural House and Michálkovice fire‑station courtyard, will show a mix of Czech classics, international comedies and family films. Admission is free in Prague and a modest fee (around 100 CZK) in Ostrava, with refunds offered if screenings are cancelled because of rain. Both cities encourage visitors to bring blankets or chairs and to check social media for any schedule changes.
