Czech cities move ahead with large parking garage in Brno and new residential tower in Ostrava

In Brno's Líšeň district, a newly selected contractor will soon begin laying foundations for a two‑storey parking garage that was planned five years ago. The project, still awaiting a building permit, is designed for 180 car spaces and 20 motorcycle spots and will replace an existing 90‑space lot. The municipal council has extended the deadline for the permit and is financing the construction.

Meanwhile, in Ostrava, the former party‑street Stodolní is being transformed into a high‑rise residential complex. Demolition started in late 2022 and construction is now underway, with underground levels for parking and commercial use and several upper floors for apartments. Over 130 units, ranging from 2.5 to 13 million CZK per flat, have already been sold. The development, led by Linkcity Czech Republic and built by VCES, incorporates low‑emission concrete and vibration‑mitigation measures, and is slated for completion in 2027 at an estimated cost of about 600 million CZK.
