Czech comedy '6 gramů' draws attention with absurd parental showdown

The Czech‑Slovak comedy film 6 gramů, directed and written by Miroslav Ondruš, centers on a chaotic parents’ meeting after a school ski‑training session uncovers six grams of white powder. Four fathers – including Jiří Mádl’s character Simon, a young theatre actor – clash over blame, while the school’s director, played by Lenka Vlasáková, refuses to let the incident tarnish the gymnasium’s reputation. The film mixes absurd humor with sharp dialogue, shifting genre twice during its runtime.

The movie opened in Slovak cinemas on Thursday and early audience reactions have been positive. The cast also features Ondřej Vetchý, David Novotný, and Martin Pechláta. In a recent interview, Jiří Mádl mentioned he has two other secret projects and a forthcoming romantic road‑movie titled Rozcestí.
