Czech communities celebrate firefighter anniversaries and traditions

Various local communities in the Czech Republic recently held celebrations marking firefighter milestones and traditions.

In Domamyslice, the 50th anniversary of the ‘Na Splávku’ event was celebrated by the SDH Domamyslice volunteer fire department. The festivities included a tombola, a laser shooting range, and demonstrations such as extracting a person from a vehicle. During the event, the local unit responded to a real emergency involving a burning cutter at a nearby gas station near Mostkovice.

In Smečno, the local volunteer fire department celebrated its 150th anniversary with a ‘Day with the Integrated Rescue System’. The program featured technical demonstrations by firefighters and paramedics, a ceremonial parade, and activities for children. The jubilee weekend concluded with a charity football match featuring stars from Real TOP Praha, which included an auction of a signed jersey.
