Czech Construction Conference to Address New Building Law, Labor Shortage and AI

The Forum Stavebnictví will be held on 16 September 2026 at PVA Expo Praha, opening the first day of the 37th FOR ARCH international construction fair. The six‑year edition of the conference will bring together state officials, municipal representatives, construction firms, developers, investors, designers, architects, academia and professional organisations.

Key topics include the implementation of the new building law, the chronic shortage of skilled workers, rising sustainability requirements, affordable housing pressures and the rise of digital technologies and artificial intelligence in construction. The programme opens with a statistical overview from the Czech Statistical Office covering construction output, housing starts and material prices for 2025 and early 2026, followed by an economic context on how geopolitics affects supply chains and investment.

Panels will discuss ways to accelerate permitting procedures, strengthen technical education and attract foreign labour, and promote greener building practices while keeping housing affordable.
