Czech culinary trends focus on seasonal recipes and innovative dumplings

Culinary experts in the Czech Republic are highlighting seasonal autumn flavors through new publications and innovative cooking techniques. Eliška Hlaváčová, known from the competition ‘Peče celá země’, has released her first cookbook titled ‘Neobyčejně obyčejná’ (Unusually Ordinary). The book combines traditional farm life and home baking, such as buns and oatmeal, with sophisticated pastry techniques like tartlets and choux pastry.

In addition to new cookbooks, chefs are encouraging creative twists on traditional autumn dishes. Petr Kosiner, chef at Knedlíky Láznička, suggests elevating classic meals like St. Martin's goose or venison goulash by pairing them with unconventional dumplings. Recommended combinations include serving goose with Karlovy Vary-style dumplings containing almonds, or pairing goulash with dumplings featuring Olomouc cheese to enhance the flavor profiles of seasonal meats.
