Czech cultural festivals: UNITED in Vsetín and Divadlo in Plzeň

The 16th edition of the UNITED multi-genre Christian festival took place in Vsetín from August 20 to August 22, 2026. The event attracted approximately 4,200 participants and featured a diverse program of over 120 items. Musical performances included 22 acts ranging from pop and rap to electronic music, featuring international artists such as Altar Poetry from the US, Good Weather Forecast from Germany, and Saintz from the UK.

In addition to music, the festival hosted 18 seminars covering topics such as sustainable leadership, politics, and social media content creation. Festival director Daniela Hurtová noted the goal is to create a program that speaks the language of the younger generation.

Separately, the 43rd International Festival Divadlo is scheduled to take place in Plzeň from September 9 to September 17. The festival will host 26 ensembles from France, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, and the Czech Republic, offering nearly 40 performances, workshops, and debates. Highlights include productions from Warsaw’s Nowy Teatr and Paris’s Théâtre des Bouffes du Nord.
