Czech cultural monuments and religious crosses undergo restoration

Various cultural monuments and religious crosses in the Czech Republic have recently undergone restoration efforts.

In the vicinity of Oldřichovský Špičák and Kančí vrch, the Spolek Patron group completed the renewal of two small monuments. The cross on Scheibe was replaced with a new oak cross featuring a copper roof, while the Polák cross near Kančí vrch was replaced with one made of ash wood.

In the village of Komňa, a stone cross dating back to 1868, which serves as a landmark in the local cemetery, was restored by Tomáš Martinák. The restoration, which involved removing biological growth and applying a protective coating, was funded by an anonymous local donor. The village mayor, Marie Kročilová, noted that the donor wished to leave a legacy for the community. The village also manages other protected monuments, including a 1798 cross and an 1831 cross located at a former cholera cemetery.
