Czech Defense Minister meets Singaporean Ambassador

Czech Defense Minister Jaromír Zůna met with Singaporean Ambassador Tan Soo Khoon to discuss expanding bilateral cooperation in defense and security. The meeting follows previous high-level discussions, including Zůna’s participation in the IISS Shangri-La Dialogue and a meeting with Singaporean Defense Minister Chan Chun Sing.

A primary focus of the talks was the Czech defense industry. Minister Zůna highlighted the capabilities of Czech companies in strategic sectors such as aviation, radar and passive surveillance systems, ground platforms, cybersecurity, and electronic warfare. The discussions also noted the participation of Czech firms in the Singapore Airshow.

Beyond industrial cooperation, the representatives exchanged views on global security issues, including the situation in Europe, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East. They specifically addressed the impact of tensions in the Strait of Hormuz on global energy security, international trade, and the economy.
