Czech educational and social services support child development

New resources and services are being introduced to support children and families during critical developmental stages. A new methodological handbook, ‘Plynulý přechod z mateřské do základní školy’ (Smooth Transition from Kindergarten to Primary School), authored by Hana Splavcová and Hana Havlínová, aims to assist educators and parents. The book provides guidance on educational strategies, pedagogical diagnostics, and fostering key competencies like literacy and mathematics to ensure a seamless transition into the first grade.

In a related effort to support family stability, the organization Cheiron T is offering social activation services for families facing difficult circumstances. Spokesperson Kamila Cílková and service head Jiřina Svobodová highlighted that the service helps parents strengthen their parenting skills—such as building trust, setting boundaries, and managing conflicts—especially when facing external stressors like financial issues, illness, or school-related difficulties.
