Czech family comedy 'Křtiny' moves to home streaming after theatrical run
The sequel to the popular Czech family comedy "Křtiny" has been released for home viewing following its cinema run. The film follows the preparations for the baptism of the grandmother Líba's granddaughter, with a detailed plan that unravels as the daughter‑in‑law secretly changes the child's name, a missing‑key mystery, and a jewel‑store incident involving the son Karel and his friend Richard.
The cast includes Eva Holubová, Jaroslav Dušek, Veronika Khek Kubařová and Anna Polívková. During its opening weekend (12‑15 March 2026) the film attracted 16,658 viewers across 216 Czech cinemas, with attendance declining on the second weekend. On the Czech film portal CSFD it holds a 44 % rating, lower than the 56 % of the first installment. The movie is now available for streaming at home.
The release highlights the continued popularity of domestic family comedies in the Czech market despite generally lower cinema attendance for Czech productions compared with foreign titles.
