Czech food authorities issue warnings over salmonella and botulism risks
Czech food inspectors have issued multiple warnings regarding contaminated food products. The State Agricultural and Food Inspection (SZPI) identified Salmonella Infantis in chicken quarters sold at a Lidl store in Pardubice. The product, produced by Romanian company Avicarvil Food and Distribution SRL, marks the third such finding from this specific supplier in less than two months. While the specific batch has likely passed its expiration date, officials warn that consumers who purchased and froze the meat may still face risks.
Separately, the Czech Hygiene Service has issued a warning regarding potential botulism risks in certain almond flakes and milk chocolate nougats. Affected products include almond flakes from Racional CZ, almond kernels from MAKRO, and various Smart Protein Granola products. Authorities are currently recalling the specific batches from the market and advise consumers to check their supplies and avoid consuming any products matching the identified batch numbers.
