Czech footballer David Gerabek killed in traffic accident on Rhodes

19‑year‑old Czech footballer David Gerabek died after being struck by a small truck while jogging on the coastal road near Afanto on the Greek island of Rhodes. The driver, a 61‑year‑old man, was arrested by Greek authorities and released pending further investigation.

Gerabek, a member of SK Artis Brno’s youth and reserve squads, was on holiday in Rhodes with his girlfriend Pavla Ella Pavličová, a fashion‑design student and Miss Czech 2026 candidate. The club and his girlfriend posted emotional tributes on social media, describing him as a talented player and beloved person.
