Czech fundraising surge for child with Duchenne muscular dystrophy

A fundraising campaign for two-year-old Jiříček, who suffers from Duchenne muscular dystrophy, has gained significant momentum in the Czech Republic. The child requires the drug Elevidys, which costs approximately 98 million CZK, to prevent fatal progression of the disease.

Following media coverage, donations have increased rapidly. A collection on Deník, which previously held less than 2 million CZK, has risen to over 7.2 million CZK. The family expressed hope that this surge in public support, including contributions from municipalities and benefit events, will allow Jiříček to receive treatment in time.
