Czech gardeners receive guidance on summer fruit varieties and pepper flower loss
A seasonal guide highlights the range of summer fruits now ripening, from strawberries and cherries early in the season to peaches, apricots, berries and grapes later on. It notes each fruit’s nutritional benefits—such as vitamin C, antioxidants, beta‑carotene for skin and eye health, and fiber for digestion—and suggests simple ways to enjoy them fresh, in desserts or as smoothies.
A separate advisory explains why pepper plants may shed flowers or produce only tiny fruits at the start of July. The main causes are extreme temperature fluctuations, inconsistent watering, and excess nitrogen fertilisation, all of which stress the plants. Gardeners are advised to maintain stable irrigation, avoid over‑fertilising with nitrogen, and protect plants from heat spikes to restore healthy flowering and fruit set.
