The Czech Republic has introduced a new state social benefit, the "superdávka," which replaces four existing supports – housing allowance, housing supplement, livelihood allowance and child allowance. About 238,481 households that previously received the discontinued benefits will transition to the new scheme. Roughly 36 % of these households will see their monthly payment rise by at least 500 CZK, while about 49 % will see a drop of at least the same amount; more than 22,500 families risk losing over 3,500 CZK per month.

Payments to existing recipients begin in August 2026, with the first disbursement scheduled for the whole month. The reform also changes the calculation of the housing component, moving from broad municipal categories to district‑based norms, and expands the definition of vulnerable groups to include single parents with children up to 15 years old. The Czech Senate approved the amendments, and President Petr Pavel is set to sign the law. In exceptional cases, the labour office may provide emergency assistance to households facing acute financial hardship after the transition. A related municipal measure links a discount on public‑transport tickets to the new benefit for eligible recipients.
