Czech health initiatives promote preventive screenings and diagnostic technology
Health prevention initiatives are being promoted across the Czech Republic through various public events and technological demonstrations.
In České Budějovice, the South Bohemian Region and the General Health Insurance Company (VZP ČR) are organizing the South Bohemian Health and Prevention Day on September 17, 2026. Held at Přemysl Otakar II Square, the event offers free screenings including skin lesion checks, ultrasound artery examinations, blood glucose and cholesterol measurements, and oncology prevention. The initiative aims to encourage early detection of health issues through accessible, walk-in services.
Simultaneously, AGEL Sport launched the national ‘Active September’ campaign with an event at the Strakova Akademie in Prague. The event featured modern diagnostic tools, such as the ‘heart passport’ which uses chest sensors to calculate an individual’s estimated heart age based on EKG and heart rate variability. The demonstration, attended by health and sports officials, highlighted the use of locally developed software and advanced body composition analysis to promote healthy lifestyles.
