Czech heritage projects: Ralsko monument and Prague fountain restoration

In the Czech Republic, two significant heritage restoration projects are underway. In the Ralsko region, the National Geopark Ralsko has completed the restoration of a Holy Trinity monument originally built in 1871 by Franz and Marie Anna Müller. The unveiling of the monument led to an unexpected meeting with descendants of the Müller family, who arrived at the site after approximately eighty years.

In Prague, the Praha 1 district has commenced an 18-month restoration of the Kranner Fountain on Smetanovo nábřeží. The project, valued at 16.9 million CZK excluding VAT, aims to restore the neo-Gothic monument designed by architect Josef Kranner. The work will include repairing stone and sculptural decorations, stabilizing the structure, and fixing the water technology to ensure the fountain can function again after being non-operational for a long period.
