Czech heritage railways launch special summer trips on August 9
On Sunday, 9 August, the Úzkokolejka narrow‑gauge railway will run a historic‑train service that lets passengers visit depots in Jindřichův Hradec, Kamenice nad Lipou and Lovětín, attend a summer‑cinema screening of the Oscar‑winning film *The Unbearable Lightness of Being* in Hůrky, and travel to a fair in Nová Včelnice. The same day the line will host an exhibition on the life of Jan Půlpytl‑Podhajský, a local World‑War veteran and resistance figure, with displays at stations in Kamenice nad Lipou and Nová Bystřice.
Also on 9 August, H&H Railway will operate a retro‑train excursion to the Český ráj region. The historic train will depart from Kolín, pass through Poděbrady, Nymburk, Mladá Boleslav and other towns, and offer optional stops at attractions such as Trosky Castle, Hrubá Skála, and Valdštejn. No advance reservation is required, though it is recommended, and passengers can purchase refreshments on board.
