Czech heritage sites restore monuments and uncover hidden time capsules

The historic monument in Karviná has been rebuilt with a new façade and is now open to the public, showcasing a fully restored appearance after previous structural shifts.

During repairs to the sanktus tower above the main nave of St. Bartholomew's Cathedral in Plzeň, workers discovered two mysterious boxes traditionally placed by earlier generations as messages for the future. The contents—potentially documents, coins and other artifacts—will be revealed at a ceremonial opening on 15 July organized by the Plzeň diocese.
