Czech hockey association investigates youth match assault

The Czech hockey association is conducting a disciplinary investigation following a violent incident during a U15 match between HC Škoda Plzeň and Pilsen Wolves. The altercation resulted in Tobiáš Pulpán being hospitalized with a concussion and a laceration requiring stitches after being struck by a significantly larger opponent.

Disciplinary officials have already issued a nine-game suspension to the Pilsen Wolves player involved. The investigation has expanded to include the team's coach, Adam Jonák, who is accused of provoking the attack by instructing the player to target the opponent. Jaroslav Špaček, head of youth development at HC Plzeň, criticized the coach's conduct, suggesting the tactical deployment of a larger player was intentional.

The incident has also drawn scrutiny toward the officiating crew for failing to intervene and separate the players during the fight. The victim's family reported that the player required re-hospitalization due to recurring headaches.
