Czech holiday weekend July 5‑6 sees Husinec festival and shops stay open

The town of Husinec will celebrate the July 5‑6 public holidays with the 11th edition of the multi‑genre Husfest music festival. Highlights include performances by Slovak band Desmod, Renne Dang and other regional acts, a historic program, lamp‑light parade, markets and family activities spanning Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

At the same time, Czech retailers are not required to close for the holidays of Cyril and Methodius (July 5) and Jan Hus (July 6). Large supermarkets, hypermarkets and shopping centres such as Billa, Lidl, Kaufland, Albert, Tesco, Penny Market and Globus may operate according to their regular hours, although individual stores can adjust schedules if they wish.
