Czech hygiene inspectors conduct over 11,000 summer checks

Czech hygiene inspectors have conducted over 11,000 inspections this summer, targeting summer camps, cultural festivals, swimming pools, and heat exposure for employees. Barbora Macková, the Chief Hygienist of the Czech Republic and Director of the State Institute of Public Health, stated that the current situation is stable and comparable to previous years.

Inspectors found issues in approximately 20% of the sites visited, ranging from minor recommendations to fines for failing to meet legislative requirements. Fines typically range from thousands to tens of thousands of Czech koruna, though they can reach up to two million koruna in severe cases.

In children's camps, inspections specifically focused on food quality, storage, dietary variety, access to drinking water, and the management of medical documentation. While some regions have issued fines, areas such as Kolínsko have reported no significant issues during the current season.
