Czech industrial firms report mixed financial results

Hutní montáže, an Ostrava-based company, returned to profitability last year with a profit of 15.1 million CZK despite a decrease in revenue. Following its acquisition by Geosan Pozemní stavby, the company reported that over 76% of its revenue came from steel structure and bridge assembly, while 20% came from technological equipment installation. The firm aims to increase revenue to 1.3 billion CZK this year, driven by high order volumes for 2026.

In contrast, HŽP, a member of the Moravia Steel group, saw both revenue and profit decline. The company reported revenues of 932 million CZK, falling below the one billion CZK mark. Management attributed the decline to a cooling European market and reduced demand for railway springs. HŽP also noted pricing pressures from major clients, such as Scania, which sought prices consistent with 2020 levels despite rising costs.
