Czech infrastructure: Prague road repairs finish early amid transport changes

Major infrastructure projects and transport adjustments are underway across various Czech regions. In Prague, the reconstruction of Kbelská Street has been completed two days ahead of schedule. The project involved replacing 45,000 tons of asphalt and upgrading barriers and drainage across a 3.9 km section. Officials noted that the successful early completion, driven by competitive bidding on duration, may serve as a model for future key road repairs.

Simultaneously, Prague is implementing permanent changes to its public transport network. Bus lines 110, 145, and 152 are being rerouted, with line 206 becoming a permanent service. Additionally, metro schedules for Saturdays and Sundays are set to be unified starting in September.

In other regions, roadworks continue with the total closure of a thoroughfare in Huštěnovice and partial closures near Pozděchov in the Zlín Region. In Slavičín, a major 80 million CZK revitalization of the Mladotické embankment is progressing, including the construction of a new concrete footbridge. Meanwhile, in Chrast, construction has begun on a new roundabout intended to support a future commercial and residential zone.
