Czech lottery winner claims 45 million CZK prize

A man from the Pardubice region won 45,271,309 CZK in the Sportka lottery after placing a random bet. He initially believed he had won only approximately 900 CZK after his father miscalculated the ticket during a check.

The winner discovered the true amount while at a gas station, where he asked an attendant to verify the ticket. To protect the winning slip, he had stored it in a home safe wrapped in multiple layers of plastic. After a 15% tax deduction, the winner will receive 38,480,612 CZK.

The winner stated that he does not plan to quit his current job but intends to use the funds for a kitchen renovation, a new car for his partner, and financial support for his nephew. He also plans a family vacation next year.
