Czech lunch prices rise nearly 50% over six years
The average price of a lunch in the Czech Republic reached 202.90 CZK in September 2025, reflecting a 2.8% increase compared to the previous year. Rising costs are significantly impacting consumer behavior. While the average expenditure has climbed, most respondents indicate they would only be willing to pay a maximum of 170 CZK for a standard midday menu.
Other shifts in dining habits include 78.4% of respondents reducing their restaurant visits due to inflation. To manage costs, 43.8% of people now opt out of ordering drinks and 41.5% skip soup when dining out.
