Czech medical events to mark World Stroke Day

In observance of World Stroke Day on October 29, various public health awareness events will be held across the Czech Republic to promote prevention and early recognition of cerebrovascular accidents.

In the Ústí nad Labem region, the Regional Hospital is organizing events at the Central Most shopping center on Friday, October 23, and at the Galerie Teplice shopping center on Saturday, October 24. These sessions will offer blood pressure and blood sugar measurements, as well as information on modern diagnostic and treatment methods used at the Masaryk Hospital's cerebrovascular center.

In Prague, Motol and Homolka University Hospitals will host an awareness event on Friday, October 30. Participants can access free, no-appointment-needed screenings, including blood pressure checks to detect atrial fibrillation and painless ultrasound examinations of the carotid arteries to identify narrowing caused by atherosclerosis. The program also includes consultations with healthcare professionals and information from the patient organization Cerebrum.
