Czech Military Academy hosts record 760-soldier oath ceremony

A record 760 recruits took their military oath at the Vyškov-Dědice barracks, marking the largest ceremony at the Military Academy since the Czech army transitioned to a fully professional force in 2005. The group consisted of 548 professional soldiers, 142 Active Reserve members, and 70 participants in voluntary military training.

The ceremony follows a 50 percent expansion in training capacity, which increased from 600 to 900 recruits per course. Captain Martin Kresta, spokesperson for the Training Command – Military Academy, noted that the academy has addressed logistical and housing adjustments required by the larger intakes.

Private František Holcman was recognized as the top recruit, becoming the first in the academy’s history to achieve a perfect assessment score of 250 points.
