Czech Ministry of Finance sells 44.6 billion CZK in state bonds

The Czech Ministry of Finance has completed its second issuance of short-term state bonds for citizens, totaling 44.6 billion CZK. Of this amount, 27.1 billion CZK consists of reinvestments from the first issuance in July, while 17.5 billion CZK represents new purchases.

The three-month bonds, known as Flexi Bonds, offered an annual yield of 3.75 percent. These yields are exempt from taxation. Holders of the second issuance have until January 11 to request a payout of their principal and interest; otherwise, funds will be automatically reinvested into a third issuance.

The Ministry plans to launch the next subscription period before the Christmas holidays, which will include three types of bonds: the three-month Flexi Bonds and two types of five-year bonds. The first issuance of the year brought in a total of 74 billion CZK.
