Czech Ministry of Health sets new medical imaging reimbursement rates

The Czech Ministry of Health has released a draft reimbursement decree for imaging methods, following a failure to reach an agreement between outpatient radiologists and payers. Because the radiodiagnostics segment remained unresolved during negotiations, the Ministry determined the new rates based on current existing structures.

Specifically, regarding magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), the Ministry decided to follow the proposal from the General Health Insurance Company (VZP). This decision comes despite provider disagreement, as the Ministry noted a 10% increase in the number of reported MRIs and treated patients this year. While the point value for these procedures is set to decrease for 2026, the current reimbursement structure will reflect the rising demand and volume of services.
