Czech Ministry of Transport plans to increase motorcycle registration fees

The Czech Ministry of Transport is planning a significant increase in administrative registration fees for motorcycles and trailers. If the proposed amendment to the law on vehicle operating conditions passes the legislative process, the new rates are expected to take effect on January 1, 2027.

Currently, the registration fee for a motorcycle with an engine capacity of up to 50 cm³ is 300 CZK, which is set to rise to 800 CZK. For larger motorcycles (over 50 cm³), the fee will increase from 500 CZK to 800 CZK, bringing the cost in line with passenger car registration fees. Similarly, registration fees for trailers will be standardized to 800 CZK regardless of whether they weigh more or less than 750 kg.
