Czech municipal elections set for Přerov and Vsetín in October 2026
Municipal elections are scheduled to take place in the Czech cities of Přerov and Vsetín on October 9 and 10, 2026.
In Přerov, the ANO movement maintains a strong position following its 2022 victory, where it secured 33.71% of the vote. Petr Vrána is expected to seek the mayoralty again if ANO wins. The upcoming election features nine competing parties, including a coalition of Pirates and STAN under the name Změna pro Přerov, as well as newcomers like Motoristé.
In Vsetín, the election is characterized by a contest for the mayoral seat between current mayor Jiří Čunek (KDU-ČSL) and the ANO movement, led by Deputy Mayor Petr Kudlík. A total of 189 candidates from nine political groups are competing for 21 seats in the local assembly.
