Czech municipal leaders announce departures from executive roles

Several local political figures in the Czech Republic are stepping down from executive municipal roles following recent elections.

In Světlá nad Sázavou, Deputy Mayor Tomáš Rosecký has announced he will leave his position after four years to work in a library. He cited the time-consuming nature of the role and a desire to focus on personal interests and sports. Rosecký intends to remain in the municipal council to continue working on projects related to education, culture, and the development of a leisure area at a former swimming pool site.

In Nymburk, Mayor Tomáš Mach stated he likely will not seek the mayoralty again in four years, despite his movement winning six mandates in the recent elections. He plans to move to the opposition benches and continue his professional work with the water and sewage company, Vodovody a kanalizace Nymburk. Additionally, Deputy Mayor Zdeněk Vocásek is leaving his paid municipal position to return full-time to his fire protection and occupational safety company.
