Czech political parties intensify campaigns for upcoming elections

Political campaigning is intensifying in the Czech Republic ahead of the upcoming municipal and senate elections. The TOP 09 party has launched its campaign, with leader Matěj Ondřej Havel emphasizing responsible municipal management, transparency, and preventing debt accumulation in cities.

In Prague, Jan Hušbauer, the ANO party candidate for mayor, has criticized the current city leadership for stagnation in security and transport. Hušbauer highlighted issues regarding public safety and cleanliness in metro stations and central areas, promising to prioritize these concerns if elected.

While TOP 09 focuses on local governance and defending its current mayors, the party is also contesting senate seats to prevent the ANO movement from gaining control of the upper chamber.
