Czech municipalities approve multimillion‑crown sports facility projects

Olomouc city council approved a study for a new indoor sports hall in the Nemilany district, estimating a cost of about 236 million Czech crowns. The facility will feature a 20 × 40 m playing area, a 300‑seat tribune, changing rooms, a clubroom, a cafeteria and parking for 37 cars and two buses. The council plans to seek a subsidy from the National Sports Agency and expects construction permits by 2028, with a two‑year build period.

In Uherské Hradiště, the municipality allocated 2.49 million crowns to upgrade the children's playground in Rybárny. The renovation will replace sand surfaces with poured‑rubber flooring, install new multi‑purpose goals for football, handball, floorball, basketball hoops, volleyball and no‑hi‑ball posts, and add benches for equipment storage. Work is scheduled to finish by the end of September, with temporary restrictions on playground use during the works.
