Czech municipalities implement new urban parking projects

Municipalities in the Czech Republic are implementing new parking and urban revitalization projects. In Frýdek, a previously neglected area near Castle Square has been transformed into a two-level parking facility with 33 spaces. Designed by architect Kamil Mrva, the project includes a steel pergola, a small park for relaxation, new greenery, and improved waste sorting facilities. During construction, archaeological surveys uncovered stone wall remains, and workers encountered various debris, including remnants of an old cinema.

In Prague, a new Park and Ride (P+R) facility has opened near the Modřany railway station. Managed by the Technical Administration of Communications (TSK), the site provides 52 free parking spaces, including three reserved for persons with disabilities. The facility is intended to assist commuters from Central Bohemia by encouraging the use of public transport, such as trains, trams, and buses. The project involved clearing invasive vegetation and repairing asphalt damaged by tree roots.
