Czech municipalities invest in water and drainage infrastructure
Municipalities in the Czech Republic are implementing new infrastructure projects to manage water resources and mitigate flooding.
Městské technické služby Liberce (TSML) plans to construct three wells at its Otavská street site to secure a reliable water source. The project, estimated to cost approximately three million CZK, aims to provide non-potable water for summer maintenance and greenery irrigation. This move is intended to reduce reliance on expensive drinking water and ensure operational stability during droughts or when surface water sources are unavailable.
In Uherský Brod, local authorities are addressing chronic flooding issues near a garage complex. To prevent the formation of large water lagoons during heavy rainfall, the town will build a new stormwater drainage system. This infrastructure will direct runoff from garage roofs and impermeable surfaces into a retention tank and subsequently into the Olšava River, resolving long-standing access issues for residents and vehicle owners.
