Czech municipalities launch urban revitalization projects

Several Czech municipalities are undergoing urban revitalization projects to improve public spaces and infrastructure.

In Otrokovice, a major transformation is beginning on Baťova street. The project covers a 68-meter section from Spojenců třída to the Morava hotel parking entrance. The revitalization, divided into two stages, includes road reconstruction, the creation of 21 new parking spaces (including two for disabled persons), and the installation of new sidewalks measuring 1.5 to 2 meters in width. To accommodate these changes, three trees will be removed and replaced by six new maple trees. The first stage, focusing on the area near the post office, is scheduled to begin on September 9.

In Litomyšl, the city is continuing the transformation of the Loučná riverbank. Following previous reconstructions, a third stage is being initiated at the Vodní valy and Osická street intersection. This phase, costing 4.5 million CZK, involves removing existing walls and trees to create a new small public park and a more suitable location for waste containers. The long-term vision for the area includes expanded sidewalks, a cycle lane, granite paving, and viewing platforms over the river.
