Czech municipalities open new community and childcare facilities

Several Czech municipalities have expanded their public infrastructure to improve community services and childcare.

In Tetín, a newly renovated municipal building officially opened on September 1, 2026. The project, costing approximately 25 million CZK, transformed a deteriorating structure into a modern facility featuring a library, administrative offices, a multifunctional community space, and a childcare group for 12 children. The project faced delays due to changing subsidy conditions and approval processes, requiring an 18 million CZK loan from the Hradec Králové Region. The building is designed to be nearly energy self-sufficient.

Similarly, Chlum u Třeboně is launching a new childcare group on September 1. The facility, created by renovating a former retail space, has a capacity for 18 children aged 13 months and older. The project cost nearly 17 million CZK, funded entirely by a grant from the National Recovery Plan. The new center includes a playroom, bedroom, dining area, and an outdoor terrace, providing flexible attendance options for local and regional families.
