Czech museums and galleries announce free admission initiatives
Cultural institutions across the Czech Republic are implementing new initiatives to increase public access to heritage and art. As part of the European Heritage Days, the town of Vysoké Mýto will offer free or low-cost access to various architectural, natural, and technical monuments on September 5 and 6. Featured sites include the Church of St. Lawrence, the Municipal Gallery, the Regional Technical Museum, and the Prague Gate.
Additionally, fifteen state-run museums and galleries established by the Ministry of Culture have introduced a new policy providing free admission to permanent collections on the first Sunday of every month. This initiative includes major institutions such as the National Gallery Prague, which will open sites like the Schwarzenberg Palace and Sternberg Palace, and the National Museum, which will offer access to its historical exhibitions. Other participating organizations include the National Technical Museum, the Museum of Literature, and various regional museums in Brno, Olomouc, and Prachatice.
