Czech newspaper publishes weekly newborn baby photo galleries from four regions

The daily newspaper Deník has released photo galleries of babies born in the previous week from four Czech regions – Vysočina, Zlín, South Moravia and Prague‑Central Bohemia. The galleries are posted online and in the printed edition, allowing relatives and friends to view the images via the newspaper’s website. Parents can submit photos of their newborns by providing written consent to the address miminka@vlmedia.cz; without consent the pictures are not published.

Each week the gallery is linked to an online poll titled “O nejsympatičtější miminko” (most sympathetic baby). Readers vote for their favourite infant, and the baby with the highest vote count from each region advances to a national final. The national winner receives the title “Miminko měsíce” (Baby of the Month). The voting system is described as open to anyone and intended to be fair.
