Czech parking app EasyPark targeted by SMS fraud

Drivers in the town of Hranice and across the Olomoucký region have begun receiving SMS messages that appear to be from the EasyPark parking service, warning of unpaid parking fees or imminent fines. The messages contain links to counterfeit websites that mimic the official EasyPark portal and are used to steal users' banking details.

EasyPark and the Hranice municipal office have warned that the company never sends payment requests via SMS and that the messages are sent from foreign numbers. Victims who click the links may initially lose a small amount, but fraudsters can later drain larger sums by reusing the captured card data. Authorities advise drivers to verify any parking charges only through the official EasyPark app or website, avoid clicking links in unsolicited texts, and consider using virtual payment cards with limited limits.
