Czech players advance at China Open as Muchová survives nine match points

Czech tennis players saw mixed results at the China Open in Beijing. Karolína Muchová secured a spot in the quarterfinals after a dramatic three-hour match against Naomi Osaka. Muchová overcame nine match points to win 7-5, 1-6, 7-6.

Nikola Bartůňková also advanced to the quarterfinals following a victory over Sinja Kraus with a score of 6-0, 4-6, 6-3. This sets up a Czech derby between Muchová and Bartůňková in the next round.

In contrast, Linda Nosková failed to defend her previous year's final appearance. The fifth seed was defeated by Ekaterina Alexandrova in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2, during the round of 16.
