Czech police clarify discovery of headless figurine in forest

Police in the Havlíčkův Brod region have clarified a social media scare involving a reported discovery of a headless human torso in a forest. The incident began when a mushroom picker posted photos on Facebook showing an object in the woods near Český Dvůr that appeared to be a charred human body.

Following the online reports, police located the individual who posted the images and were led to the site. Upon investigation, officers determined the object was not human remains, but rather a headless figurine of a female body that closely resembled a corpse at first glance.

Police spokesperson Dana Čírtková stated that the figurine was removed from the site. Authorities issued a public statement to dispel rumors and reassure local mushroom pickers that there is no danger in the area. An investigation is ongoing to determine how the figurine ended up in the forest.
