D11 highway carjacking leads to police pursuit and arrest

A 35-year-old man has been placed in custody following a violent carjacking and police pursuit on the D11 highway near Hradec Králové. The suspect reportedly entered a woman's vehicle at a highway exit, using threats of violence to force her to drive toward Prague. After forcing the driver to exit the vehicle, the man stole the car, valued at approximately 400,000 CZK, and fled.

During the subsequent police chase, the suspect refused to stop and collided with the rear of a police vehicle. The collision resulted in minor injuries to a female officer, who was taken to the hospital for examination.

Authorities confirmed that the suspect tested positive for two illegal substances and was driving with a long-term license suspension. Given his criminal record and current probation status, he faces charges of robbery and extortion, with a potential prison sentence of up to ten years.
