Czech politicians' incomes revealed by Hlídač státu

An analysis by the watchdog organization Hlídač státu has revealed the annual incomes and multiple roles held by Czech politicians. The report highlights that several officials earn significant sums through a combination of salaries, bonuses, and reimbursements.

Senator Tomáš Fiala (ODS) recorded the highest gross annual income at 7.04 million CZK, a figure bolstered by his role as the director of the Strakonice Hospital. He outearned former Prime Minister Petr Fiala (ODS), who earned 5.04 million CZK and ranked sixth on the list.

Other high earners include Senate President Miloš Vystrčil (ODS) with 5.78 million CZK, Senator Přemysl Rabas (SEN 21) with 5.75 million CZK, MP Jan Skopeček (ODS) with 5.17 million CZK, and MP Jiří Mašek (ANO) with 5.05 million CZK. Michal Bláha, director of Hlídač státu, noted that while overlapping roles are not inherently problematic, transparency is essential for public oversight of how state funds are utilized.
