Czech porcelain and vintage tableware see rising collector value

Vintage Czechoslovakian porcelain and tableware are experiencing a significant rise in market value due to growing collector interest and nostalgia. Specifically, Ditmar-Urbach plates associated with the Brussels style and the 1958 Expo can now command prices between 50,000 CZK and over 100,000 CZK, despite having originally cost around 40 CZK.

Collectors are increasingly seeking out retro items featuring floral, fruit, or traditional motifs. Old mugs from manufacturers such as Loket, Dubí, or Karlovarský porcelán, which once sold for mere crowns at flea markets, are now fetching hundreds of crowns. Experts suggest that the bottom markings of these items—such as the Ditmar-Urbach signature, the swan with a 'T' for Trnovany, or specific mold numbers—are crucial for verifying authenticity and determining value.
