Czech Post outlines strategy to reverse multi-billion crown losses
Czech Post has unveiled a new strategic plan aimed at transforming its financial situation and returning to profitability by 2028. The state-owned enterprise reported a loss of approximately two billion CZK last year, driven by a 57 percent decline in traditional mail volume over the past five years and significant losses in its parcel services.
General Manager Richard Hodul stated that the company will focus on digital transformation and expanding its service offerings to the state to create new revenue streams. The strategy includes leveraging artificial intelligence to improve efficiency and strengthening synergies with Balíkovna.
Despite the financial challenges, the Ministry of the Interior has mandated that the company cannot reduce its workforce or close its network of nearly 3,000 branches. The leadership aims to stabilize operations to generate four billion CZK in savings, with an additional one to two billion CZK expected from new services.
